Activities in and Around The Palace
We can offer almost anything you want to do on your Caribbean vacation. Some of these activities require 1-2 day advance arrangements.
BEACHES - complimentary
The Palace has their own 1000 foot private, secluded, seasonal beach. Three minutes away is El Caleton Beach, which is great for children of all ages and for snorkelers. Traditionally, it has very calm water. A resort team member can transport you to this beach complimentary.
PLEASE NOTE: Our seasonal beach may not be accessible due to weather conditions and/or seasonal tides. However, there are several beaches within 5 minute drive and The Palace provides complimentary transportation to and from these beaches.
SWIMMING POOL - complimentary
The Palace offers a large swimming pool with a large shallow end for children. One of the special features of the free form swimming pool is the swim up pool bar, so that you never have to leave the pool if you are thirsty. There are also many comfortable lounge chairs always available.
JACUZZIS - complimentary
The Palace has two Jacuzzis, one that is a few yards overlooking the ocean and beach and the other is set tranquilly by the outdoor gazebo.
GOLF

SPA/WELLNESS
We offer a private spa experience for your ultimate pampering for men and women, offering 7 different types of massages and 3 types of facials, as well as many body treatments, such as body wraps. We also offer hair, nail and waxing services.
DEEP SEA FISHING:
Deep sea fishing with English speaking crews for short, half day and full day charters chasing after White Marlin, Barracuda, Wahoo, Tuna, Dorado, Perch and Yellow Fin Snapper.
SCUBA DIVING:
Get your Scuba diving certification at our area’s PADI Dive School, enjoy an introductory “try-a-dive” (an hour pool lesson) followed by an instructor supervised dive. There are 20 dive sites regularly visited, ranging from 8 meters to 40 meters deep, with amazing coral, caves and underwater mountains as well as all colors of sea life.
SNORKELING:
The same company that rents fishing charters also has snorkeling trips for you to enjoy all of the colorful fish and coral of the sea.
SILVER BACK WHALE AND PORPOISE WATCHING:
Peak Whale Watching is January 15 – March 20. 80% of the world’s Humpback Whale population migrate to their natural calving and mating grounds at Samana Bay. On board the 50 foot Whale Watching Boat is a Marine Mammal Specialist narrating and answering questions, as passengers witness flippering, tail lobbing, breaching and possibly even hear the male’s solitary courting song.
EQUESTRIAN:
Trek through the countryside and rainforest on a 3 hour horse back ride (or less, if you choose) with English speaking guides.
SITE SEEING AND SHOPPING:
Only 5 minutes away is a quaint, authentic-Dominican Republic shopping village of Rio San Juan. 10 minutes away are the shops of Cabrera and 35 minutes away is Cabarete, where there are even more local market, jewelry and souvenir shops.
ECO-TOURING:
Local excursions, hiking, Trekking, Mountain bike trailing
WINDSURFING:
Wind and Kite Surf in Cabarete (dependent upon current weather conditions) Make wind your friend and surf with the element of the ocean.
ATV’S AND JEEP SAFARI EXCURSIONS:
Discover the grass roots culture of our tropical paradise, visiting local Dominican farms and villages on this 4 four countryside adventure, enjoying touring through “Jurassic Park”-like hills and take a dip in a vivid turquoise west water pool or in the ocean off our local white sand beach.
